Features of Mountain Modern Design
Modern Timber Frame
A traditional timber frame structure, showcasing the beauty and strength of exposed ceiling beams. This approach provides a robust framework for the home and highlights the natural aesthetic of the timber. We value “honest architectureâ€, appreciating the authenticity of materials and craftsmanship. By leaving the structural elements visible, we create a design that is both genuine and timeless.
Contemporary Mountain Architecture
With its clean lines, exposed timber, and multi-pitch roofs, this home embodies contemporary mountain architecture. Influenced by the natural landscape, this home incorporates natural materials such as stone, wood, and metal accents as well as natural light to integrate with the environment.
Indoor-Outdoor Living
The glass breezeway entry, combined with floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that open to the patio, transforms your living space by letting in abundant natural light and making you feel immersed in the surrounding elements. This thoughtful design blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of nature.
Open Concepts Floor Plan
The open-concept layout removes barriers between living spaces, creating a seamless flow from room to room. The expansive design encourages natural light to permeate throughout, enhancing the sense of space and making every area of your home feel bright and airy. TESTIMONIALS
“I started with a design engagement with Purcell; I knew the general style I wanted was to be fairly traditional in nature. I also knew I had a budget to stay within. Purcell worked through this with me systematically, drawing floor plans and 3D renderings of the outside of my home for easy visualization. They stayed true to their final pricing quote and did not increase it at all along the way. No surprises. The finished result is now a very beautiful house package. I am very happy with Purcell’s final product and would definitely build with them again should the opportunity arise. I am very happy and highly recommend you to all who are considering building.”
– Henry Whyte
“We came to Purcell with our vision and feel for a mountain dream home. Purcell transformed that into reality. As it is the essence of our home, we set the highest expectations for quality craftsmanship in the timber frame. Purcell’s dedicated team achieved.â€
– Peter & Tammie Douglass
“When my wife and I decided to build a lakefront home, we met with several timber frame builders to find the right one. Our building site presented unique challenges and not all of the builders we met with were up to the task. From the beginning, Purcell was the right choice for us and did not shy away from the challenge. During the design phase a blank slate approach was used to ensure our vision was achieved. During construction, Purcell continued to be amenable to change and delivered exceptionally high quality on both the timber frame and the envelope. My family now has a home that exudes warmth in the rich quality of the wood and exceptional craftsmanship of the joinery. Without question, Purcell is the only name in home building.â€

Our team is committed to advancing projects as swiftly as possible, but the timeline will depend on the number of design iterations required to meet our client’s specific requests.
Permitting and Approvals: Obtaining the necessary permits and approvals from local authorities can vary in duration.
Site Preparation: The condition of the building site, including any required clearing, grading, or excavation, can impact the timeline.
Client Decisions: Timely decisions and approvals from clients regarding design changes or material selections are crucial to maintaining the timeline.
Inspection Schedules: Scheduling and passing inspections at various stages of construction can affect the overall timeline.
